I have this CD, but nothing to play it on. It's one of my favorite Christmas CDs. The producer/arranger has other versions of these songs updated in the 2000s, but I've been searching for these 1993 versions. Geez, that's over 30 years ago! Thank you so much for sharing it here.

Merry Christmas from a 54yr old sassy broad who adores Swinging Big Band music! I taught for 30yrs and introduced my students to this genre of music with great success- from preK to middle school. We had sock hops and did boogie woogie workshops during afterschool, lol. No cursing, no videos controlling or defining the listener's imagination, actual musical instruments being played in harmony by a team of musicians---- those were the days! I played Audio Bingo with them by tasking the kids to name all the different instruments they heard. It was fun and entertaining while learning about orchestras. I introduced them to different band leaders, performers and singers from diverse backgrounds. Older kids would report excitedly when they heard big band music being used in cartoons, movies and commercials. It let them know that history has MANY WONDERFUL things to offer and is still relevant, remains useful. I feel so grateful to have been born and raised during an age when there was more unity between generations; and kids still had CHILDHOODS! LOL, I was born in 1970, but I grew up listening to this great music with my parents and grandparents from their private music collections of RECORDS. Oh how I treasure those moments. This music makes the HOLDAYS COME ALIVE. Bless you and thank you for posting.

Sang the Jubilate Deo and the Pinkham Christmas Cantata with the Lebanon Valley College Concert Choir under the Direction of the late Dr. Pierce Getz. Fabulous interpretation exactly as performed here. Takes me back a long time ago (1968-72). Wonderful experience. Thank you for the memories here. G

It was 59 years ago, I first heard the Is record. So glorious! So joyful! I would imagine Christmases of the 1950s, 1940s, even back to early 1900s and all their glories! I feel these exquisite emotions bursting back to life!

It's remarkable that the "big band era" only lasted about 10 years, but was a totally new genre that changed music forever. I'm a 1953 model, and this stuff is built-in for me. Long live swing!

Bought this from a thrift store and have enjoyed ever since. We live in Appalachia and love authentic mountain music. Come thou long expected Jesus at 25.50 and the transition through O Come all ye faithful is just superb.

Thanks for this! This exact album was an important part of my family's Christmas tradition when I was growing up. I made a cassette copy of it back in 1985, but as you can imagine the sound quality is going downhill! Merry Chritmas!
